Sky Brubaker is Head of Preclinical Research at VitriVax. He has over 15 years of research experience working on the innate immune response to microbial infections. During his graduate work, Sky discovered an immune regulator involved in the response to viral infection. During his postdoctoral research, Sky gained critical experience with small animal models for studying infectious disease and the immune response to infection. This experience provided training in a breadth of experimental approaches to study sepsis, Salmonellosis, Tularemia, and Toxoplasmosis. At VitriVax, Sky is utilizing these skillsets to establish small animal models to test the ALTA™ vaccine platform and inform improvements in design, with the goal of demonstrating that ALTA™ vaccines are safe, effective, and provide durable protection against infectious disease. Sky received his BA in Molecular and Cellular Biology from UC, Berkeley and his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Harvard University.
