Rom Colindres is Chief Executive Officer at VitriVax. Having worked in the vaccines industry for 15 years, Rom has been involved in the development and evaluation of rotavirus, HPV, influenza, and pneumococcal vaccines, among others. In his previous leadership roles at GlaxoSmithKline, he gained interdisciplinary expertise in epidemiology, medical and regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, clinical development, and market access. As GSK VP of Global Medical Affairs, Zoster, Rom led the medical team in the successful global launch of Shingrix, a recombinant, adjuvanted Herpes Zoster vaccine. Rom previously worked as an Epidemic Intelligence Officer for the Centers for Disease Control, investigating foodborne and infectious disease outbreaks worldwide. He has served as advisor and board member for early-stage biotech/health tech companies and enjoys the strategic challenge of bringing innovative products and technologies to market. Rom earned his MD and MPH degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was board certified in pediatrics after completing a residency at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. He has an MBA from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
