Joe Spencer is Head of Particle Engineering at VitriVax. Having entered the industry at the forefront of ALD technology, Joe has spent his 18-year career pioneering atomic layer deposition onto particles and powders. In previous roles at ALD NanoSolutions and Forge Nano, he established many process control methodologies and equipment designs. Beginning as a process design engineer, he was instrumental in adapting the atomic layer deposition process to bulk material handling. A pragmatic philosophy of utilizing existing manufacturing practices and keeping equipment simple, resulting in reliable and robust machines. Joe advanced through technical management to ultimately lead Operations at both prior companies. At the Director and VP levels, he led daily manufacturing and participated in annual operating planning, board and investor presentations, and leading company all-staff meetings. Joe holds a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
