Antu Dey is Vice President of Research and Early Development at Vitrivax. He has more than 17 years of industry experience in advancement of multiple platform technologies, and discovery and early development (CMC) of novel vaccine and biologic candidates against multiple infectious diseases that includes HIV-1, SARS-CoV-2, VZV, RSV, hMPV, PIV3, Rabies, CMV, Lyme. Prior to Vitrivax, Antu served as Senior Vice President of Preclinical R&D at Icosavax (now an AstraZeneca group of companies) in Seattle, WA, and oversaw disease target identification and vaccine antigen design, down-selection and development, using Icosavax’s proprietary protein-VLP platform technology, to advance those VLP assets for early clinical development. Prior to Icosavax, Antu was Vice President of Viral Vaccines Product Development and Senior Vice President of Vaccines R&D at GreenLight Biosciences, Lexington, MA. There he led the integrated development of the company’s first mRNA vaccine asset against SARS-CoV-2 for clinical evaluation in Africa and led discovery of novel vaccine candidates against two viral infectious disease targets using the company’s mRNA platform technology. Before joining GreenLight Biosciences, Antu led the phase-appropriate development and cGMP manufacturing of over a dozen recombinant adjuvanted subunit and mRNA vaccine and monoclonal antibody candidates, at IAVI’s Product Development Center in New York, NY, against HIV-1 and SARS-CoV-2 for Phase 1-3 clinical trials in US, Europe and Africa. Before joining IAVI, Antu worked at Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics and then at GSK Vaccines, in various Research and Technical Development roles of increasing responsibilities. Antu serves as a scientific advisor to various scientific conferences, academic organizations, and to Ministry of Science and Technology (DBT BIRAC), Govt. of India for vaccines and therapeutics development. Antu completed his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford (UK) and completed his post-doctoral research at Weill Cornell Medical College (New York, NY).
