Bob Garcea is a Co-Founder of VitriVax. In addition to his work with VitriVax, Dr. Garcea is a Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He was previously an Assistant/Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and then served as Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantation and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and Children’s Hospital Denver. Bob’s area of research expertise is the study of the structure and assembly of small DNA viruses, employing an interdisciplinary approach that spans medicine, structural biology, and virology. His integrative studies have advanced the development of next-generation HPV vaccines with respect to both cost and delivery. Bob earned his A.B. in Chemistry from Harvard College, M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, served as a Pediatric Resident at Stanford, and pursued post-doctoral research and subspecialty clinical training at Stanford, UCSF, and Harvard Medical School.
